Regulation
Governments all over the world are working ever more toward a cleaner transport industry. The main way this is done is through the regulation of emissions. However, governments around the world have different priorities, and this is reflected in the differing regulations. What is acceptable in China might not be acceptable in Europe or North America.
What is monitored?
Compliance is determined by running the engine at a standardized test cycle. Non-compliant gensets cannot be sold in the EU/EPA/PRC and CARB area.
California
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a department within the California Environmental Protection Agency that is working to address air pollution in the state.
Any TRU operating in California needs to conform to their strict regulations, regardless of their country or state of origin.
