However, governments around the world have different priorities, and this is reflected in the differing regulations. What is acceptable in China might not be acceptable in Europe or North America.

California
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a department within the California Environmental Protection Agency that is working to address air pollution in the state.
Any TRU operating in California needs to conform to their strict regulations, regardless of their country or state of origin.
Thermo King’s SG-5000 is the most environmentally friendly unit on the market. With this model, you have a genset that is CARB-compliant. As a result, you can focus on making the most of current and future operations.
SG-5000 is already set up for the potential none-idling regulations with its advanced control system and standard telematics. It is the only unit available in CARB region that controls the exhaust temperatures to prevent thermal events and will automatically re-start.

Thermo King’s SG-3500 is a high-performance, environmentally friendly unit compliant with all regulations in Europe, North America and China. SG-3500 is NRMM, EPA and GB4 compliant.
Units manufactured before May 31st, 2023 also enjoy 7-Year CARB compliance and can operate in California.
